Mayor Ishmael Carruthers - Town father
and uncle of the beautiful Ethel Brookbank. He's concerned about
the recent murders which have been plaguing his town, particularly
in that they bear a striking resemblance to the crimes of the Ripper
in Whitechapel abroad.
Ling Ho - Young man who acts as the
caretaker of Concord's morgue, recently found hanged in his small
room at the back of the establishment.
Ethel Brookbank - Niece of the mayor,
she is a beautiful and intelligent woman who seems to know more
than she's let on about the unspeakable murders in Concord. On the
night of February 12th, she was gunned down by assasin's bullets
outside of the morgue. Hanging precariously to life she disappeared
into thin air with the mayor.
Shannon Pennywhistle - First murder victim
in concord, disemboweled and dumped in the swampy marsh north of
town.
Miranda Pennywhistle - Shannon's sister, missing since her
death, rumored that the two were inseparable, and if one is dead
and the other missing, she is surely dead.
Utta Sparrowfeather - Jovial Sioux woman
whose charms and wisdom have aided many a towns person, though she
may be a bit too fond of spirits (of the bottled kind).
Russell Johnson - Freeman, and Buffalo Soldier, he often
works as a blacksmith in the Union town of Concord and spends quite
a bit of time on the company of Sparrowfeather, but is not to be
underestimated, he's humored to be a devil with a rifle and has
a reputation as a fierce pugilist.
Odediah "Dutchie" Berger -
Proprietor of Longfellow's Wayside Inn, a portly, good-natured gentlemen,
it's said he has connections with government in Boston.
Apothecary Clem Stuart - One of Concord's
many doctors, but nearly unique in that he is not affiliated with
any of the Universities of Massachusetts - making him possibly a
man to be trusted.
